At the Global Investors Meet in Tamil Nadu on January 7th and 8th, 2024, Raptee Energy, a Chennai-based startup, turned heads with the unveiling of its electric motorcycle. Scheduled to hit the streets in April 2024, this two-wheeler guarantees an exhilarating ride powered by its high-voltage drivetrain and state-of-the-art technology.
Raptee Energy asserts that charging the vehicle at any CCS2 charging station is remarkably efficient, taking only 45 minutes to achieve 80 percent capacity or a brief 15-minute charge for a range of up to 40 km. Additionally, the electric motorcycle, housing a potent motor, can accelerate from a standstill to 60 kmph in just 3.5 seconds.
Highlighting its commitment to innovation, Raptee showcased its inaugural transparent motorcycle at the event, emphasizing its dedication to pushing boundaries. With a substantial investment of Rs 85 crore, the new Chennai factory includes a cutting-edge R&D center and aims to manufacture up to 100,000 units annually. Over the next 24 months, this facility will serve as the primary production hub, providing employment to 470 individuals with a focus on manufacturing, design innovation, and a specialized battery pack assembly line.
Beyond its impressive torque and consistent top speed, Raptee’s sleek silhouette is meticulously crafted to deliver a stunning and often surprising level of performance. The R&D team has successfully delivered the first production-ready model, paving the way for a comprehensive launch scheduled for April 2024.
